A few years ago, I came across a book called “Crones Don’t Whine” by Jean Shinoda Bolen, M.D. I’ve probably done more than my share of whining at various points in my life, but I don’t think I had ever considered myself a crone.

While I cannot share in the female perspective here, I will admit to being a 'Popeye'. I was taught at a young age to always be myself, that whining about things outside of my control was a waste of energy that would be better served by trying to be a better me. And that then, someday, I'd grow up to be a lot more like Cindy!
